    Description

    RPO's client, a boutique investment consulting and management family-owned company is seeking a skilled and experienced Accountant to join a young team of professionals in Somerset West. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, doing monthly management accounts, processing invoices & payments, preparing VAT & SARS returns and upkeeping statutory records.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage the day-to-day financial operations of the company, including bookkeeping, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
    • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial data.
    • Monitor and analyze financial transactions, identifying any discrepancies or irregularities.
    • VAT and tax returns preparation and submission.
    • Assist with budget preparation and forecasting.
    • Processing daily payments.
    • Assist with the preparation of annual audits and tax filings.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions.
    • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to management.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 3 years of professional accounting experience.
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
    • Proficiency in Sage Online is required.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.
    • knowledge of South African tax laws and regulations
    • Experience in the financial services industry
