    Description

    Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced contract manager to join their team and oversee the efficient execution of contracts, ensuring adherence to deadlines, budgetary constraints, and quality standards.

    Responsibilities:

    • Implement and maintain a comprehensive filing system.
    • Manage asset registers for each site and oversee asset management.
    • Ensure strict control and submission of delivery notes and invoices.
    • Timely submission of safety returns and plant returns.
    • Ensure timely processing of labor returns and maintain site records such as SI's, VO's Drawing Register, and Daily Diary.
    • Oversee stores and material control.
    • Prepare accurate project turnover forecasts and participate in profit forecasts.
    • Ensure project meets or exceeds allowable profit targets.
    • Produce accurate and timely cost reports to maximize project cash flow.
    • Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors, including submission of additional/new rates accurately.
    • Implement and ensure proper functioning of costing system.
    • Monitor buying versus allowables throughout the project.
    • Conduct effective negotiations with landowners and introduce new work rates
    • Monitor labor and plant overtime expenditure throughout the project.
    • Control subcontract extras, dayworks, etc. effectively.
    • Thorough understanding and application of contractual correspondence and claims.
    • Establish and maintain viable construction models to minimize re-work
    • Enforce adherence to safe working practices and ensure availability and utilization of safety equipment.
    • Ensure safety appointments are in place for subcontractors and promote safety and environmental awareness through various initiatives such as VFL, DSTI, and Risk Assessments.
    • Monitor safety statistics and ensure adherence to the contract EMP.
    • Create a safe and healthy work environment.

    • Ability to enforce safety protocols and promote a culture of safety.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract management or a similar role in the construction industry.
    • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in construction safety and management.
    • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
    • Familiarity with construction project management software and tools.
