3. JOB PURPOSE

  • Align the contractual framework and contract(s) specifications to project's objectives.
  • Share the information and knowledge of contracts between the relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure the contract(s) is (are) fully and compliantly executed.
  • Prevent or mitigate disputes and claims.
  • Mitigate project risks and benefit from project opportunities.
  • Maintain good business relationships.


In respect of the above, the role requires the Contract Manager to avoid cost & schedule overruns or performance mismatch, protect our Project's interests and sustainability in the respect of our contractual commitments, ethics rules, corporate policies, and environmental and societal responsibility.


4. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Health; Safety and Environment (HSE)

Manage the related contracts

  • Followingup and administrating the different contracts during project execution, under the responsibility of the CEO.

Contribution to the project management processes

  • Contributing to updating the risk and opportunity matrix of the project, focusing on the execution of the various contracts and the corresponding mitigation measures.
  • Support the drafting of the Project Management Plan.

Administration of the different contracts

  • Administrating the main contracts and subcontracts by collecting and keeping records of facts and events.
  • Maintaining a register of correspondence, minutes of meetings, etc.; ensuring that proper document management is in place to support such filings.
  • Monitoring the issuance and validity of the bonds and other security and implementation of (calling on) guaranties/security.
  • Monitoring the interfaces between the different contract so as to anticipate and mitigate potential impacts from one on the other.
  • Organizing periodic contractual review meeting.
  • Contributing to the monthly progress report of the CEO.
  • Drafting contractual letters to the clients, partners, contractors and subcontractors.
  • Identifying and documenting discrepancies between contract performance and related provisions of the contracts, and breach or lack of consistency between contracts.
  • Followingup the performance of the suppliers and contractors, and keeping the Category lead buyers informed as appropriate.
  • Permanently supports and reinforces commercial and contractual awareness amongst all employees

Control and manage change orders

  • Supervising implementation of the change orders procedure.
  • Challenging change orders requests, participating to their validation,.
  • Updating the change orders register.
  • Controlling implementation of agreed change orders.

Manage claims in relation with ENGIE lawyers and external lawyers

  • Drafting, notifying and defending claims in a proactive way.
  • Coordinating the investigations for claims received,.
  • Preparing counterclaims and negotiates with the counterparties.
  • Participating to litigation processes and court proceedings,.
  • Liaising with the Category lead buyers, particularly with regards to key contractors and suppliers that are monitored at Group level (Supplier Relationship Management).
