    Description

    An exciting and promising career opportunity exists with a dynamic agribusiness that is searching for a financial accountant. The business is located in the vicinity of Grabouw, Western Cape.

    The ideal candidate must have an accounting qualification and at least 4 years' experience in an accounting and finance role with an added benefit being exposure in an agricultural or farming concern. Completed SAIPA, SAICA or CIMA articles will be a distinct advantage and membership to a professional finance regulatory body will be viewed favourably.

    They are looking for a 'hands on' candidate who will report to the financial manager.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Compile balance sheet and income statement reconciliation on an accurate and timely basis to ensure completeness and accuracy of trail balance and prepare monthly file to send to the Financial Manager.
    • Prepare monthly management accounts and distribution to the Head of Departments and address any queries.
    • Monthly financial reviews with operational managers to discuss financial performance.
    • Compile month VAT 201, reconciliations, and submissions to SARS. Make payments and resolve queries with SARS.
    • Prepare and assist in the annual financial audits.
    • Manage the Fixed Asset Register, including additions and monthly recording of depreciation.
    • Perform full month-end close process, including journals, bank reconciliations and interdepartmental transactions.
    • Process prepayments and accruals and ensure month-end schedules are accurate and updated.
    • Process of various other transactions to complete the monthly trial balance.
    • Manage the petty cash.
    • Management of debtor's function.
    • Management of creditors function.
    • Management of cash and cash equivalents.
    • Management of vehicle and asset finance.
    • Management of administration office.
    • Manage payment of salaries and wages.
    • Compile and submit bi-annual submission and monthly EMP201 with payment.
    • Compile and submit annual Return of Earnings Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Commission.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree, diploma or certificate in accounting or similar.
    • Minimum 4 years' accounting experience.
    • Completed SAIPA, SAICA or CIMA articles advantageous.
    • Microsoft Excel – intermediate to advanced level.
    • Computer literate in MS Office, VIP Payroll, Sage 300 and Accpac.
    • Aptitude in working with figures is essential.

    Remuneration:

    • R420,000 to R540,000 pa, depending on experience.
    • 13th Cheque.
    • Medical Aid and Pension Fund contributions.
