    Our client is looking for a candidate to join their team as an Assistant Audit Manager at a Leading Audit Firm in East London

    Are you a skilled and dynamic professional with a passion for audit and a commitment to excellence? The medium-sized audit firm is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Audit Manager to contribute to our dedicated team with a primary focus on commercial audit. This is a permanent position based in East London, offering the opportunity for career growth and professional development.

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    As an Assistant Audit Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of the company's audit engagements and the growth of our firm. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    1. Client Portfolio Management: Manage a diverse portfolio of clients, overseeing both tax and audit aspects, providing exceptional service and maintaining strong client relationships.
    2. Comprehensive Audit Oversight: Take charge of all phases of audit engagements, from meticulous planning to efficient execution and reporting. You will collaborate with the Audit Manager and Partner to communicate findings effectively.
    3. Strategic Staff Planning: Skillfully allocate resources and plan staff assignments for optimal engagement outcomes.
    4. Thorough Review: Perform comprehensive reviews of audit files, tax returns, and management reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
    5. Document Excellence: Produce meticulous and high-quality documents, reports, and engagement files that meet the firm's standards.
    6. Financial Statement Preparation: Skillfully prepare annual financial statements in alignment with IFRS for SMEs, demonstrating your expertise in financial reporting.
    7. Team Leadership: Provide daily supervision, guidance, and leadership to audit staff and teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
    8. Mentoring & Coaching: Develop, coach, and mentor junior audit staff, offering guidance and support while conducting performance reviews.
    9. Client Relationship Management: Liaise with clients, maintaining clear communication and delivering outstanding service, thus enhancing the firm's reputation.
    10. Management Reporting: Prepare insightful management reports that highlight key findings and recommendations.
    11. Progress Updates: Regularly update progress reports and other relevant documentation, ensuring timely and transparent communication.
    12. Budget Oversight: Prepare and monitor audit budgets, ensuring engagements are carried out efficiently and within financial constraints.
    13. Trainee Development: Assess trainees using the SAICA EAT system, contributing to their growth and development.
    14. Administrative Approval: Review and approve trainee timesheets, overtime, expense claims, and leave forms, demonstrating your attention to detail.
    15. Ancillary Duties: Contribute to the smooth functioning of the firm by taking on additional responsibilities as needed.

    Skills & Qualifications:

    • Matric
    • SAICA accredited undergraduate degree
    • Completed SAICA articles
    • 1+ years of post-article experience in commercial audit
    • Proficiency in Caseware (advantageous)
    • Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
