About the Position

Currently, the Finance Department at Industrial Scale Plant (ISP) in East London, South Africa has a vacancy for a suitably qualified and motivated finance professional.

Therefore, we are looking for a seasoned Finance Officer to join our growing Finance team.

As a valuable member of our team, your primary focus shall be the execution of tasks related to the position of Finance Officer, the details of which shall be confirmed by your Manager and tasks shall be delegated in accordance with priorities of the Finance department.

Responsibilities:


  • Record day to day financial transactions;
  • Process, reconcile and prepare month end payments and payment requisitions for all suppliers; in an accurate and timely manner;
  • Process Purchase Requestions and Purchase Orders;
  • Liaise with suppliers to request outstanding invoices and resolve any account queries;
  • Process Cash book entries and reconcile bank accounts;
  • Maintain monthly schedules and process monthly journals;
  • Maintain the fixed assets register;
  • Perform month end closes;
  • Finalise figures from stock takes, prepare inventory valuations and report on variances;
  • Prepare Vat reconciliations and prepare supporting documentation for audits;
  • Create and analyse financial reports ensuring legal compliance in all aspects;
  • Prepare Budget Vs Actual reports;
  • Prepare any ad hoc analyses and reports as and when required by the Finance Manager;
  • Assist with preparation for audit and compiling audit file and required documentation;
  • Assist with the preparation, analysis and verification of accounting records, financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and adherence to reporting and procedural standards;
  • Maintain the general ledger operations;
  • Assist with tax filings and statutory requirements;
  • Assist with special projects related to process improvements.

Requirements:

A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role,

Strong knowledge base of accounting principles, VAT and Income TAX Acts,

Advanced Excel skills and high proficiency in MS Suite,

ERP system experience and Inventory Management skills highly advantageous.
