    Duties & Responsibilities

  • Must be able to effectively manage thepurchasing, stores and receiving staff.
  • Must have aggressive contribution tocost reduction.
  • Must ensure that best price, rebatesand quality is procured and secured from reputable suppliers.
  • Must be able to put in place aneffective tender launch process.
  • Must ensure that tenders are launchedtimeously as per business requirements.
  • Must ensure that the Service LevelAgreements are signed with each supplier for the duration of the tender priceagreement period.
  • Must ensure that the Service LevelAgreements written for each supplier has non-conformance clauses, linked to therelevant credits, and on time delivery.
  • Must to involved in regular stocktakes, and further ensure the accuracy of the stock takes.
  • Must be able to forecast purchasing ust be able to have a demandpurchasing strategy in place.
  • Must visit suppliers' premisesregularly to ensure HACCP compliance.
  • Always ensure stock levels are adheredto, to avoid stock shortages.
  • Must ensure that all purchase ordersare signed before orders are placed.
  • Ensure that stock is effectivelymanaged to avoid expiry of stock.
  • Liaising between suppliers,manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers to ensure effectivecommunication regarding Procurement related matters eg. Substitutes, etc.
  • Identifying potential suppliers,visiting existing suppliers, and building and maintaining good relationshipswith them.
  • Take in to account the company's BEEpolicy towards Enterprise & Supplier Development for maximums points onProcurement. Work closely with HR on this.
  • Ensure that stock on hand has adequateinsurance cover, work closely with finance.
  • Must train and supervise the work of teammembers.
  • Develop and maintain procurementprocedures and systems control
  • Ensure that the Purchase Book isupdated on the system with the agreed prices accurately and timeously

    Requirement, Experience &Qualifications

  • B-Degree in Purchasing and SupplyChain Management/CIPS.
  • Or Relevant Qualifications.
  • Must be fully competent in MicrosoftOffice.
  • Must have a driver's license and ownVehicle.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 Years'Experience in Purchasing/Procurement.
  • Experience in the food industry willbe a major advantage.
