Purchasing Manager

Criteria:


Required Qualification/Education:

-
Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Sourcing or related
-
At least 3 years working as a Procurement Manager in the Steel Manufacturing, Engineering or related industries
-
Proven experience in using SAP modules related to purchasing will be a distinct advantage

  • Experience in foreign vendor purchasing requirements,
  • Experience with dealing with imports and exports and related requirements,

Daily functions:


  • Coordinate all purchasing activities, negotiate with vendors for the purchase of all materials, supplies, services and equipment used by the company.
  • Analyze purchases, service level agreements with the aim of reducing costs, on time delivery and improving quality, vendor compliance with SLA and ensuring the procurement of products or services adheres to internal corporate requirements.
  • Managing Purchasing processes in order to ensure parts, material supplies and services are purchased at the lowest possible costs, but consistent with established standards for quality, quantity and service,
  • Negotiate with vendors for goods and services, negotiating the best possible prices and service guarantees,
  • Manage the logistics of parts and raw materials into and out of the country in accordance with company and company policy, complying with local and international legislation,
  • Manage all required documentation and forms to ensure the efficient and costeffective execution of all import/export activities,
  • Prepare purchase orders, place orders and manage open orders, and ensure compliance with procurement policy,
  • Maintains procurement records for parts and services and reporting on items purchased, cost, delivery and inventories,
  • Manages SAP procedures related to purchasing function and ensuring proper use and maintenance of material master,
  • Support BBBEE initiatives including development of preferred suppliers and ensure compliance to BBBEE strategy,
