    Description

    RPO Recruitment is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional SHERQ Manager to join our client's team in Durban within the packaging industry. As the Regional SHERQ Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety, health, environment, risk, and quality standards across multiple sites within the region. Our client, in partnership with RPO Recruitment, is committed to providing a safe and sustainable work environment.

    In this role, you will develop and implement safety and quality programs, conduct audits and inspections, and provide training to employees to promote a culture of safety and excellence. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in SHERQ performance.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement safety, health, environment, risk, and quality (SHERQ) policies, procedures, and programs
    • Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, regulations, and industry standards
    • Conduct periodic audits and inspections to identify areas of non-compliance and recommend corrective actions
    • Provide guidance and support to site managers and employees on SHERQ matters
    • Develop and deliver training programs to promote safety awareness and best practices
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in SHERQ performance
    • Lead incident investigations and implement preventive measures to minimize future occurrences
    • Monitor and analyze SHERQ data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
    • Prepare reports and presentations on SHERQ performance for management and external stakeholders
    • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging regulations, and best practices in SHERQ management

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental management, or related field
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in SHERQ management within the packaging industry
    • Proven knowledge and experience in SHERQ legislation, regulations, and industry standards
    • Strong leadership and communication skills
    • Effective training and presentation skills
    • Audit and inspection experience
    • Problem-solving and analytical skills
    • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and influence others
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and SHERQ management software
    • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the region
