    Description

    We are looking for a talented POWER GENERATION TENDER APPLICATION ENGINEER to join our team specializing in ENGINEERING for our DISTRIBUTION BUSINESS SEGMENT in JOHANNESBURG, GAUTENG, SOUTH AFRICA.

    In this role, the candidate will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Develop and compile technical-commercial responses to RFQs (requests for quotations) - gensets and balance of plant equipment for power generation solution
  • Drives utilization of Cummins tools and processes - i.e. PZ (Cummins power zone genset sizing tool), Quick serve, SFC (sales ), segment focus etc.
  • Develops specifications for turnkey project solutions and develop supplier, OEM relationships to improved value engineered design solutions and price offerings. Liaise and lead specific customer and internal project manager meetings
  • Conducts value engineering analysis. Respond to PGEN RFQs (site visit, design application, costing, balance of plant design and costing and tender submissions to customers). Assist in revenue recognition
  • Develop design and drawing folder design packages. Develops QA/QC (quality assurance / quality control) and commissioning data packs with project teams. Understanding of both electrical and mechanical design and engineering solutions

    • To be successful in this role the candidate will need the following:

  • Qualification: Electrical Engineering (preferred) or Mechanical Engineering Degree. BSc or BTech Engineering qualification (Ideal) or National Diploma (min)
  • 5 years' experience with Generator & EPC ( engineering, procurement and construction)
  • 5 years' experience with designing and execution experience within a construction environment
  • Knowledge of Industry customer base
