Site Agent - Johannesburg, South Africa - Engineered Sourcing
Description
The main duties and responsibilities of the site agent are as follows:- Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans.
- Produce schedules and monitor attendance of crew.
- Scrutinise the plans/drawings and schedule any items to be ordered for Head Office approval.
- Regularly followup on materials requirements and based on reconciliation of plans ensure all orders are timeously placed for plant and material.
- Receive plant and material and reconcile deliveries against orders to ensure correct quantity and quality of deliveries.
- Allocate general and daily responsibilities to a team of labourers.
- Supervise and train workers and tradespeople.
- Ensure manpower and resources are adequate.
- Timeously identify and report discrepancies/omissions on plans to management.
- Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met.
- Supervise the use of machinery and equipment.
- Monitor expenditure and ensure it remains within budget.
- Resolve problems when they arise.
- Report on progress to managers, engineers etc.
Requirements:
Applicants should have solid experience in the following:
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- Ability to communicate and report effectively.
- Ability to read drawings and plans.
- Setting out from drawings.
- Calculating of quantities.
- Problemsolving abilities.
- Good physical condition and stamina.
- Prior experience in a supervisory role is a prerequisite.
- 5 years related experience in the construction environment.
QUALIFICATION
- Minimum requirement of Matric certificate.
- Diploma in a skilled trade will be beneficial.
