    Description

    Purpose of the Job

    Represent the company at internal and external customers and suppliers regarding technical procurement enquiries and support. Providing technical support for Procurement, Contracts, New Business and Tenders, attend tender briefing and client specification meetings where required.

    Job Description
    (Role, Responsibilities and Key Activities):

    • Vehicle specification Management
    • Supplier Management
    • Provide Technical advise
    • Technical support to Procurement team, load distribution and design drawings, provided that all required information is completed and correct
    • Supply technical drawings for all commercial vehicles when required
    • Technical support Contracts, new business and tenders, attend tender briefing and client specification meetings where required.
    • Assist with vehicle selection in line with vehicle capabilities and client or tender requirements and expectations (provide fit for purpose solutions)
    • Assist with vehicle / body design: Supplier management body builders, specification sign off and weekly progress report to Procurement

    Required Experience:

    • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in Transport or Fleet Management
    • Relevant Industry body professional membership an added advantage
    • 3 5 years technical & commercial fleet experience
    • Detailed understanding of the Road Traffic Act specifically with regards to requirements of road legal vehicles / load distributions / overloading etc.
    • Extensive knowledge of commercial vehicles, bodies & application
    • Matric / Grade 12

    Qualifications:

    • Qualified diesel and / or petrol mechanic
