    Role Purpose

    • The main goal of this position is to implement the client Sales strategy.
    • This involves meeting product sales targets and ensuring a top-notch, consistent customer experience for all products at the most efficient cost possible.
    • This position leads and guides the clients BDC channel, requiring strong leadership to motivate the team for exceptional results.
    • The Sales Manager is responsible for understanding the Regional Customer base, identifying growth opportunities and specific needs, while ensuring optimal resource management to enhance operational efficiencies.
    • Ensuring compliance of the clients Sales Team processes with regulatory and procedural requirements.
    • Achieving necessary audit scores.
    • Working with staff to elevate skill levels and foster a positive work atmosphere. Implementing and achieving training and development plans for BDC's. Overseeing transformation and promoting employment equity.

    Responsibilities and work outputs

    • Drive profitable sales volume of all products.
    • Deliver a consistent, exceptional customer experience across channels.
    • Implement sales plans, budgets, and strategies for accelerated growth:
    • Focusing on sales to the external market.
    • Targeting South African and public sector markets.
    • Maximize channel effectiveness.
    • Utilize insights into Provincial client and competitive markets to execute initiatives for increased market penetration.
    • Communicate sales distribution strategic goals, plans, and operational model to stakeholders.
    • Establish a swift and efficient lead management process.
    • Ensure adequate resourcing, development, performance management, and retention plans are in place for the sales team.
    • Conduct collaborative meetings for retail sales.
    • Collect province-specific retail tied sales data and prepare relevant reports for stakeholders.
    • Ensure effective risk management and governance of sales.
    • Key individual: oversee sales activities, including compliance function performance, particularly regarding FAIS and licensed product categories. Represent the Sales Team in compliance monitoring visits.

    Experience and Qualifications

    • Matric/Grade 12.
    • NQF 5 or equivalent qualification as required, and/or FAIS Credits (min 30 credits in short term insurance if date of first appointment is before 2010); or for appointments on or after 01/01/2010, a fully recognized qualification as per the FSCA qualification list.
    • FAIS Regulatory examination for Representatives (RE5) and (RE1) for Key Individual.
    • For one Class of Business (Personal or Commercial) registration, 12 CPD (continuous professional development) points are required. For two Classes of Business (Personal and Commercial), 18 CPD points are needed.
    • 5 years' experience in Sales (Short Term Insurance).
    • 3 years' experience in Managing staff in the short-term industry.
