    Minimum Requirements

    An appropriate 3-year B-degree/ Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) or higher qualification as recognised by SAQA;

    A minimum of 5 years relevant experience at a middle/senior managerial level.

    Successful completion of the Certificate for entry into the SMS (Senior Management Service) prior to appointment: The nominated candidate will be required to complete the Senior Management Pre-Entry Programme before the candidate may be appointed into this post. The duration of the online Pre-Entry Programme is notional hours ( days). Full details are available at:

    Key Performance Areas

    Provide strategic guidance and advice in respect of the following broad areas of service delivery: Performance management system; performance

    agreements, performance assessments, performance evaluation process and awards system and probation process; Provide performance consulting

    services that includes poor performance and incapacity processes; Ensure the sourcing of talent for priority clients e.g Ministers offices, HOD's and SMS.

    Strategic Management; Change Management; People Management; Financial Management.

    Competencies

    Proven working knowledge and experience of the following: Legislation, regulatory frameworks, policies and best practices; Information Systems; Core

    Competencies: Strategic Capability and leadership, People Management and Empowerment, Programme and Project Management, Financial Management

    and Change Management; Skills: Partnership Management; Change Management; Knowledge Management; The skills required of a high level in-house

    advisor; Strong conceptual and formulation skills; Strong leadership skills with specific reference to the ability to display thought leadership in complex

    applications.

    Remuneration

    R 1 per annum, Salary Level .

    The remuneration package consists of a basic salary (%) and the employer's contribution to the Pension Fund. The remainder of the package may be structured in accordance with the rules for SMS

All shortlisted candidates will be subjected to a technical exercise that intends to test relevant technical elements of the job, the logistics of which will be communicated by the Department.

    Following the interview and technical exercise, the selection panel will recommend candidates to attend a generic managerial competency assessment (in compliance with the DPSA directive on the implementation of competency based assessments). The competency assessment will be testing generic managerial competencies using the mandated DPSA SMS Competency Assessment tools.
