BIOVAC is one of the leading sterile vaccine manufacturers rooted in Africa, with our core purpose being to "protect life". We are looking to hire a dynamic, passionate, confident, proactive and meticulous Utilities Lead to join a goal-oriented team.


QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:


  • Bachelors degree or diploma in Mechanical engineering.
  • Recognition is given to prior learning and practical experience (810 years in the role or similar)

NECESSARY EXPERIENCE & INDUSTRY KNOWLEDGE:


  • At least 8 years experience in the Maintenance and Calibration of Vial and Syringe filling lines, VLP (VI, Labelling and Packing), Lab equipment and HVAC.
  • At least 3 years experience at middle to senior management level.
  • Experience in quality and regulatory compliance within a cGMP facility.
  • Business and operational planning.
  • Program and project management.
  • Participation in developing a departmental budget and monitoring expenditures for multiple projects & funding sources.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:

  • Full Control and management of calibration and maintenance of Utilities at Biovac.
  • Monitor progress and learnings ongoing to ensure adequate return on time and resources invested.
  • Proactively mitigate general business as well as area of responsibility
- related risks and find ways to mitigate these.

  • Ensure effective and comprehensive planning of the unit/ sections financial forecast and budget requirements.
  • Instil a costconscious culture and responsible investment in initiatives that add value to the business and fits within the financial plan and priorities.
  • Drive continuous improvement plans and priorities through the implementation of appropriate tools or methodologies in order to proactively manage risk, reduce wastage and to improve quality on site.
  • Ensures adherence to schedules and unscheduled calibrations.
  • Leads investigation in calibration failure.
  • Responsible that the change control, and nonconformance system is strictly adhered to by team.
  • Writing, drafting and training of SOPs.
  • Responsible for SLAs, training, planning and involvement of internal staff and external companies for activities.
  • Produce a project definition report for each project
  • Get sign off and approval of plans and deliverables from both suppliers and project steering committee prior to implementation
  • Proactively mitigate general business as well as area of responsibility
- related risks and find ways to mitigate these.
