I have been in a management position since 2001 at Culemborg Woodworks, managing staff and projects, that included maintaining and refurbishing cabins, mess rooms, decks etc onboard sea going vessels. Projects also included general joinery and cabinet making among others. However, due to the changing industry and the country's economic downturn, business decreased and the business was closed.
I started Koto Wood Projects aiming to cater to household refurbishments and shopfittings, which is sufficient but comes with it's own challenges.
At Uriah, as a Junior Estimator, I became experienced in the use of their systems and costing as well as their operating processes. My potential was quickly recognized and the added responsibility of Distributions Supervisor was entrusted to me. One thing I have appreciated working at Uriah, is learning and understanding the importance of shopfitting in the retail industry and how important it is for revamp and new build projects to be completed timeously and within budget.
I feel that I am a strong candidate due to my long managerial experience, my communication skills with clients and staff, as well as my no nonsense attitude. I work best when in an organized environment and thrive under pressure. I am also a team player, welcoming ideas from others and listening if people disagree with me or want to share any advise. My computer skills are sufficient, especially in Excel. Although I am in an administrative role, I do not have a problem getting my hands dirty if need be.

Oversee the dispatch department that includes the packaging & deliveries of shopfitting units to local, national and international sites as well as ensuring the dispatch area remains organised. Managing the drivers & dispatch team & ensuring they have everything necessary to complete their tasks timeously & efficiently.
Ensuring the necessary COVID protocols are followed, ensuring all staff wear necessary PPE when moving around the premises and working in close proximity with each other.
