    Description

    RPO Recruitment is currently seeking a Distribution Manager to join our client in the Manufacturing Industry. As a Distribution Manager, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the distribution operations within the company. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth and efficient distribution processes from start to finish.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement strategic distribution plans and processes to optimize efficiency
    • Coordinate and collaborate with production, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of products
    • Oversee inventory management and ensure accuracy in stock levels
    • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and regulations related to distribution and logistics
    • Develop and maintain relationships with third-party logistics providers and negotiate favorable contracts
    • Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and improve distribution performance
    • Lead and manage a team of distribution staff, providing guidance and support for their professional development
    • Participate in forecasting activities and contribute to the development of production plans
    • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in all distribution activities

    Requirements

    • Tertiary qualification degree/diploma in logistics
    • Minimum years distribution and warehousing experience in a FMCG environment within a large distribution centre environment - essential.
    • Minimum 5 years' experience in a management position (managing a workforce of more than 50)
    • Proven track record of successfully implementing operational best practices in a distribution and warehousing environment.
    • Minimum 5 years WMS experience is essential.
    • ERP systems knowledge and experience, with JDE preferable.
    • Proficient in Microsoft office, specifically Excel.
    • Demonstrated success with productivity and cost-savings initiatives
    • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
    • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment
