    Description

    Minimum Qualifications :

    • Grade 12
    • Honours degree Internal Auditing/Accounting/Investment management or a related discipline

    Preferred Qualifications :

    • A Post Graduate Degree in Internal Auditing / Accounting / Investment Management or a related discipline.
    • Industry recognised certifications such as CFA/ CIA / CA/ CIMA/ACCA.
    • CFE or related qualification will be an added advantage.

    Minimum Technical/Core Skill Requirements

    • Knowledge of financial markets
    • Knowledge of IFRS, PFMA and treasury regulations
    • Knowledge of best practice frameworks such as King IV, COSO, among others
    • 5-8 years relevant experience, of which at least 3 years must be in a management role.
    • Experience of managing audits in financial services industry and asset management companies

    Duties:

    • Contribute to the development of the overall Internal Audit strategy, develop goals and monitor achievement.
    • Developing an audit universe of all auditable Investment and Operations processes, a flexible risk based 3 year rolling audit plan, and overseeing its execution to ensure timely completion of engagements.
    • Assess allegations received from the various sources and ensure necessary approvals are obtained in line with the investigation protocol.
    • Prepare the investigations scope and terms of reference.
    • Coordination of investigations with the appointed forensic firms and support the implementation of the investigation reports.
    • Communicating the results of Audit Activities in a suitable format to all key stakeholders such as the Audit Committee, EXCO, other board Committees to facilitate understanding and remedying of internal control shortcomings.
