    Description

    Minimum Required Qualification:

    • The appointee should: Have a Mine Managers Certificate of Competency

    The Appointee should:

    • Mine Manager Certificate of Competency
    • Have At least 5 years experience in a related role, of which 2 years should have been at a management level or experience in a functional/specialist area.
    • Strong managerial skills with the ability to lead and motivate the production team;
    • Be computer literate in MS Office
    • Have experience in the relevant current Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, regulations as well as to the workplace principles applicable to SHE
    • Have experience in the relevant Mining legislation
    • Be a self-starter, motivated and be results orientated.
    • Exhibit good oral and written communication skills.
    • Be declared medically fit to function in the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at a relevant Occupational

    Advantageous Qualifications:

    • Have undergone a Middle/ Executive Managerial Leadership Programme
    • NQF 7 Bachelors Degree or advanced Diploma in Mining Engineering

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Driving a culture of Safety ownership with a strong emphasis on behaviour based safety
    • Managing the Underground Operations Unit teams, safely, efficiently and cost effectively to meet both short and long term production objectives.
    • Keeping up to date with latest Mining systems, processes and best practices and make suitable recommendations
    • Analysing and interpreting Mining data and reports and takes corrective action as required
    • Providing effective problem solving support to the Mining teams
    • Ensuring that all necessary Mining resources ,(personnel, equipment and materials ) are available as required
