JOBJACK is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as a Financial Accountant. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing the financial operations of the company and supporting strategic financial initiatives. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the accounting records, financial reporting, budgets, and forecasts, as well as ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. The Role

This is a summary of the Financial Accountant's key responsibilities:

Responsibilities1. Financial Accounting

Oversee all accounting records, financial reporting and tax-related matters.
Oversee the monthly rhythm-based tasks performed by the Finance team.
Implement and improve accounting systems, controls and processes in place to ensure that financial
information is complete, accurate and timely.
Provide technical support & assistance to the Finance team.
Lead and drive the Annual Audit as well as any Internal Audit Processes.
Oversee and assist with the Debt Collection Process.
Oversee the monthly payroll preparation & administration.

2. Financial Strategy

Prepare the company's management accounts.
Manage the company's cash flow effectively.
Assist the CFO with potential future fundraising processes.
Collaborate with the finance team to drive the achievement of its objectives and key results (OKRs).

3. Documentation and Communication

Prepare and assist with grant and funding-related reporting and documentation.
Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Handle queries and correspondence from employees, clients, suppliers, shareholders, and board members.
Identify opportunities for process improvement within the finance department.
Ensure all necessary documentation regarding finance processes is updated and relevant.

4. Team Leadership and Development

Lead and manage the finance team effectively.
Craft and host the onboarding experience for new finance team members.
Conduct probation and performance evaluations and provide regular feedback to team members.
Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to team members.
Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in finance and accounting.
Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment within the finance department.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Additional certification as a CA (SA), AGA (SA), or PA (SA) is preferred.
3+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and financial analysis.
Experience managing budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting.
Advanced proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional with communication and collaboration.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Integrity and ethical conduct in handling financial matters.
Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
Ability to apply new knowledge in a fast-paced environment.
