- Month-end journals and reporting
- Compiling month-end management packs
- Analysing and reporting on financial performance against budgets and forecasts
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Analysis of GL accounts
- Manage bank and supplier reconciliation teams
- Assist Senior Accountant and CFO where needed
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and assist with all other SARS submissions (e.g. Income tax, Provisional payments, Employee tax recons, PAYE)
- Prepare, review, submit and liaise with auditors for annual audit
- Performing financial calculations
- Assist with annual budgets and quarterly forecasting
- Monitor compliance with accounting systems and processes and internal control policies
- CA(SA) - newly qulified / SAIPA / AGA(SA)
- Experience in retail industry will be beneficial
- Working knowledge on accounting software such as Pastel, Xero, Sage
