    Description

    Core Functions:
    • Manage geochemistry, contamination and remediation projects;
    • Compile proposals and reports;
    • Coordinate project schedules;
    • Undertake site assessments/field work;
    • Manage budgets;
    • Appoint and manage sub-contractors;
    • Develop and sustain new business and client relationships; and
    • Mentor junior colleagues.

    Competencies and Characteristics:
    • Excellent geochemistry/geology/chemistry/industrial waste & mine residue characterisation and management/pollution source identification and control knowledge;
    • Ability to work in a dynamic consulting environment;
    • Self-starter and committed team player;
    • Demonstrate growing ability to create new work for self and others;
    • Be alert to market developments and opportunity for new work;
    • Excellent reporting, communication and presentation skills; and
    • Analytical and integrative skills across diverse sectors.

    Qualifications:
    • Honours or higher in Geochemistry or Geology or Hydrogeology or Chemistry or higher / other relevant degree;
    • Sci.Nat. Registration;
    • 8 to 12 years relevant experience;
    • Valid drivers licence and own transport; and
    • Willingness to travel within and outside South Africa.

    Upon becoming a permanent member of staff, the Company will endeavour to pay an annual performance bonus to each permanent employee as a reward for individual / financial performance. The Company reserves the right to pay an interim bonus during the year, normally in December. This forms part of the annual bonus.
