Social

About Mishack Dube:

I come from a diverse background that combines my passion for social investments, social impact, sustainability, and economic research. My academic journey led me to a degree in Economics, where I developed a strong foundation in understanding economic systems and their impacts on society.

Throughout my career, I've been dedicated to merging my analytical skills with my commitment to positive change. I've worked extensively in the realm of social investments, carefully evaluating opportunities that align financial returns with meaningful social outcomes. For example, in my previous role, I was responsible for identifying socially impactful projects that not only generated returns for investors but also created tangible benefits for communities.

Additionally, my focus on sustainability has guided my involvement in projects that promote environmentally responsible practices. Whether it's been analysing the economic feasibility of renewable energy initiatives or collaborating on waste reduction strategies, I've sought to balance economic growth with environmental stewardship.

What truly excites me about the intersection of these fields is the potential for transformative change. I've had the privilege of engaging with various stakeholders to foster partnerships that drive social and economic progress. For instance, I've actively worked with local communities, NGOs, and governmental bodies to design initiatives that address pressing societal issues while considering economic sustainability.

Experience

As a passionate and dedicated Senior Social Investment Analyst, my primary focus
revolves around driving social impact, promoting sustainability, and contributing to
socio-economic development through innovative implementation models. With a
strong background in business development and economic research, I specialise in
identifying channels for substantial social impact and crafting business-based
solutions to foster socio-economic progress. Throughout my career, I have
accumulated invaluable expertise in conducting industry research and providing
strategic insights that have informed decision-making across diverse sectors such
as mining, agriculture, renewable energy, agro-processing, and infrastructure
development, with a notable interest in rail initiatives in Southern Africa.
In my current role at Tshikululu Social Investments, I contribute to the delivery of
compelling business proposals and provide valuable insights through in-depth
market and socio-economic research and analysis. This also includes the
development, standardisation, and implementation of internal business
development frameworks, knowledge management, and the successful delivery of
ad hoc social investment projects. I actively support the development of high-quality
social investment strategies for clients across diverse sectors, including mining,
renewable energy, and financial services. Emphasizing the importance of
sustainability, I collaborate with Social Impact Specialists to design innovative
solutions that address the unique needs of our clients while fostering responsible
and environmentally conscious practices. Recently as part of the business
development team, I had the privilege of contributing to the development of a
successful sustainability and ESG business case for Tshikululu, which we now offer
to our clients. This strategic approach ensures that our projects not only meet the
highest standards of social and environmental responsibility but also deliver tangible
benefits to our clients.
Before joining Tshikululu, I was as a Researcher at Holbourne Advisory,
collaborating closely with a team of executive search consultants on both domestic
and international assignments. By applying my economic research and analysis
skills, my key area of specialisation involved conducting primary and secondary
research and comprehensive mapping of niche skills and positions across a diverse
range of industry segments. However, it was at Benchmarking and Manufacturing
Analysts (BMA), where I worked as a graduate, before joining Holbourne Advisory
where my proficiency in professional economic research was first recognised and
developed. BMA’s primary focus is around industry research and strategy
development in key manufacturing sectors, including automotive, clothing and
textile manufacture, and chemicals manufacture.
Other roles include Business Development Researcher at PLI Group. In this role, I
was responsible for identifying growth opportunities for the business, leveraging the
knowledge base I had acquired from my previous employment. I hold a Master of
Commerce degree with a specialization in Development Theory and Policy from the
University of the Witwatersrand. Prior to that, I completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree
Honours in Development Studies from the University of Johannesburg. To
continually enhance my skill set, I have actively pursued additional courses,
particularly in Business Development and Project Management.
As a Senior Social Investment Analyst, I am driven by a passion for creating positive
societal change and championing sustainability at every level. My dedication to
socio-economic development and implementation models that truly make a
difference continues to motivate me to explore new opportunities for positive
transformation.
