    Description

    What will you do?

    • This career opportunity is available at Specialist Solutions, a division of Santam for an Underwriter: Motor Fleets, who will be based in Johannesburg: Illovo.

    What will make you successful in this role?

    • Underwriting
    • Underwrite and manage a portfolio of existing and new business, including risk evaluation, coverage analysis, and pricing negotiations.
    • Visit brokers to discuss renewals and new business, building relationships and market presence.
    • Client Liaison (Internal and External)
    • Respond to queries, prepare for and attend meetings.
    • Financial
    • Meet budget responsibilities and monitor renewals and new business.
    • Strategic Input
    • Provide strategic input for relevant business areas.
    • Staff
    • Mentor and provide technical training to staff.
    • General Administration
    • Follow up on quotations, handle accounts queries, and attend to daily administrative tasks.

      • Qualifications and Experience

      • Matric required
      • Appropriate tertiary qualification prefered
      • Must be FAIS compliant
      • 3 years underwriting experience

        • Skills

        • Technical proficiency, financial acumen, and attention to detail
        • Track record in handling high-pressure work environments
        • Computer literacy and client orientation
        • Strong communication and negotiation skills
