Europcar branch, based in Bruma, Johannesburg, has a permanent opportunity available for a Controller: Finance.

Strong organising and analytical skills are necessary for this role, as well as a high respect for the time lines affecting the role and a team player attitude.

Position Overview:


The purpose of the position is to monitor and control the fleet procurement budget strategies to ensure cost-effective sourcing and delivery of vehicles.

Furthermore ensure that all fleet administrative duties are completed timeously and to the required standard in order for fleet efficiencies to be realized and business risk to be escalated and controlled.


Specific Role Responsibilities:


  • Monitor and control all aspects of the vehicle financial procurement process against the approved vehicle purchasing budgets
  • Maintain, on a monthly basis, a financial analysis of the vehicle spend against the vehicle budget and report on any issues or inconsistencies from original vehicle purchasing strategy.
- liaise with operations and OEM for the vehicle delivery date

  • Assist and provide input for the annual Vehicle Procurement Planning and Capex Budgeting
  • Processing the Capex preparation for Vehicle Financial Procurement Budget approval
  • Timeous OEM Vehicle order management and updates including Vehicle accessory pricing
  • Timeous OEM Vehicle pricing engagements and updates
  • Vehicle accessory orders timeously loaded on the operational system (SAGE)
  • Regular engagements and updates with Operations and Finance around Vehicle Orders, amendments, and distribution changes
  • Timeous coordinating, preparation, and submission of reports on a monthly basis.
  • Fleet and Fuel Administrative responsibilities including monthly fuel management updates and vehicle model creation and updates on internal operating system
  • Filing and other ad hoc administrative duties.

Qualifications and Experience:


Minimum Experience:


  • 3 years of relevant financial and/or procurement controller experience
  • Advanced level of MS Excel
  • Motor industry or Car Rental experience would be advantageous
  • Accounting or Financial experience would be advantageous

Minimum Qualification:


  • Matric or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification.

Preferred Qualification:


  • Business/Financial Management or other relevant tertiary qualifications.

Minimum Requirements:


  • Computer literacy with high level of accuracy

Important to note:
The appointed person may be required to work overtime as required.
