    How you'll role

    As a Creditors Clerk, you will work to create and maintain a sustainable and effective financial operation. You will possess and be able to display an in-depth knowledge of accounts and accounting principles.

    What you'll do

  • Ensure that SOPs in your area of responsibility are adhered to as well as kept up to date
  • Process supplier/creditor accounts and outgoing payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
  • Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts payable data
  • Capturing bank account payments ensuring reconciliation to the bank on a daily basis
  • Prepare bills for payment and review
  • Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to supplier statements on a monthly basis
  • Verify discrepancies and resolving billing issues
  • Facilitate timeous payments of supplier bills due and following up on outstanding purchase orders
  • Complete credit account applications for all divisions of the business

    • What you'll need

  • Tertiary Education – BCom accounting or similar.
  • Proven working experience as a creditors clerk.
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles.
  • Data entry skills.
  • Good working knowledge of MS office software packages.
  • Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills.
  • Customer/Supplier service orientation and negotiation skills.
  • Time management skills
  • The ability to operate computerized accounting, spreadsheet and word processing programs at a highly proficient level.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process.
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
  • Ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles
