    Senior Fund Accountant SA CIS Hedge Fund Accounting

    Job Advert Summary

    The primary responsibility of this position is to provide assurance on fund valuations and perform fund valuation.

    The Senior Fund Accountant will need to manage, administer and account for portfolios in the traditional funds area within Accounting Services.

    The individual will be required to administer the funds efficiently, accurately and within daily deadlines as well as setting up and ensuring checklists and standards are adhered to.

    Minimum Requirements

    The successful candidate will have:

    The qualifications below will be an advantage but if the individual has the relevant experience this will also be considered.

    A BCom or similar, accounting, economics or investments background;
    Strong knowledge of the operations of the fund management industry and trade life cycle;
    Experience in Asset Management portfolio administration and pricing minimum 2 to 3 years;
    Experience with investment products (including Unit Trusts, Multi-Manager, Segregated Portfolios, ETFs, Pooled products) either locally or internationally an advantage;

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Outline of main duties and responsibilities

    The successful applicant will be expected to:
    Ensuring the accurate calculation of Fund valuations, including NAVs and accounting to TB;
    Ensuring the accurate calculation of Fund valuations;
    Collating and verifying information from third parties;
    Responsibility for maintaining and continuously updating the process documentation; and

    Communicating and responding to queries internally and from the client, assisting team leaders and managers in resolving such queries.

    Perform checks within the team (in the absence of the team leader)

    Reporting Structure

    The Senior Fund Accountant SA CIS Hedge Fund Accounting will report to the Team Leader SA Fund Accounting based in Cape Town .
