    Description

    Our client based in Bellville industrial is looking for an Assistant Maintenance Manager to join their team

    Requirements

    • Qualified Electrician or Millwright
    • 5 Years experience as artisan in manufacturing environment
    • Valid South African drivers' licence (Code 8)
    • Own reliable transport to and from work
    • Strong knowledge and insight in mechanical and electrical systems, pneumatics and PLCs.
    • Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving maintenance issues.
    • Good understanding of safety regulations and procedures.
    • Excellent communication skills in Afrikaans and English.
    • Computer literate

    Responsibilities

    • Oversee the maintenance department and manage a team of maintenance artisans and assistants.
    • Ensure preventive maintenance schedules for all machinery and equipment are done to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
    • Ensure maintenance schedules are completed and signed off by required departments.
    • Conduct regular inspections and troubleshoot machinery issues to identify root causes and implement corrective actions promptly.
    • Coordinate with production to prioritize maintenance activities without disrupting production schedules.
    • Maintain inventory of spare parts and equipment, ensuring availability for maintenance and repair purposes.
    • Maintained maintenance stores and workshops.
    • Do regular tool checks and tool inspections.
    • Adhere to safety protocols and ensure that all maintenance activities comply with relevant regulations and standards.
    • Provide technical guidance and training to maintenance staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
    • Available for weekend and standby duties every third week.
    • Stand in for the maintenance manager in his absence.
