    Purpose


    There is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Personal Lines Short Term Insurance specialist to work as a Sales Consultant on the leads of a leading bank at our client's offices in Roodepoort and provide an internal tele sales service to clients by means of quoting and selling personal lines products.

    This position is target based and expected to contribute to the growth of the division.


    Responsibilities:
    Prepare and process quotes on the relevant system.

    Provide professional and accurate advice on cover, exclusions, terms and conditions and ensuring clients are advised of any underwriting requirements in terms of the policy.

    Negotiate cover and rates with insurers on behalf of clients.
    Responsible for generating new business according to set target.
    Ensure that proposals are correctly completed and follow up on outstanding documentation.
    Follow up on quotations already produced and not yet accepted by clients.
    Ensure that schemes run profitably by adhering strictly to the underwriting criteria.
    Responsible for producing weekly and monthly operating/ sales reports.
    Handle underwriting and claims queries when necessary.
    Support, actively participate and contribute towards team initiatives and any new divisional or branch strategies.
    Keep up with market trends within the insurance industry and be aware of competitors' products/ offerings.
    Adhere to the minimum operating standards.


    Qualifications and Experience:
    A minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent.
    A Bachelor's degree is preferable.
    Possess a full short-term insurance qualification at NQF4.
    Passed RE exam.
    Must be registered as a representative with the FSB in terms of the FAIS Act.
    Must be registered as a licentiate with the IISA (or studying towards).
    Have a minimum of - 3 years' experience in a similar or related role.
    Be computer literate with advanced experience in MS Word and Excel.
    Very good knowledge of Policy wordings.
    Ability to contribute to any team initiatives FAIS Compliance.


    FAIS Compliance:


    Comply with the applicable Fit and Proper provisions as set out in the Board Notice 106 of 2008 issued by the Financial Services Board governing Financial Advisory and Intermediary services Act, 2002 — Determination of Fit and Proper requirements for Financial Service Providers, 2008.

    Have knowledge and understanding of the applicable provisions set out in the General Code of Conduct for Authorized Financial Services Providers and Representatives (as governed by the Financial Services Board, Board Notice 80 of 2003).

    Have knowledge and understanding of the applicable provisions set out in the Short-Term Insurance Act No 53 of 1998 and supporting regulations.

    Understand the provisions of the Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA), No 38 of 2001 and amendments thereof.
