I am an enthusiastic and highly motivated young finance professional. I enjoy working both independently and closely with other team members on solving problems, completing various assigned tasks and being someone who is dependable to others. I am somewhat OCD so being detail-oriented comes quite naturally to me. 

Working in this particular industry the ability to work under pressure is truly essential and enables one to effectively plan out their tasks to ensure that they are completed by or before the deadline date and I am truly proud of the fact that I have never missed a deadline in my financial accounting career. Since June of 2021 I have had the privilege and opportunity to prepare financial statements of various private entities operating in South Africa ranging from Petrol stations, Mining entities, ICT companies, property groups, ecommerce businesses, Non-profits, small, medium and large enterprises in various industries to name a few, reviewing their processes, processing their transactions.  

My professional experience has allowed me exposure to an array of various essential accounting skills, including: processing of financial transactions, use of excel in preparation of reports and for conducting reconciliations, the ability to review financial statements to identify outliers and irregularities between periods. 

Thoroughly going over the tax preparations of the entities as it pertains to the payroll tax, VAT and of course income Tax. I have been fortunate to be exposed to an array of accounting and financial software’s used widely such as Xero, QuickBooks, Caseware, and Draftworx as well as the payroll of multiple entities utilising an online software called ‘SimplePay’.

Engaging in leadership roles and task as it pertained to newly onboarded accountants this entailed assisting them in understanding various accounting processes and procedures and how to effectively carry out tasks, being available for questions and any queries they may have.

Delegating tasks and reviewing the completion of the tasks and communicating and going over them together.

Approximate rate: R250 per hour

Experience

● Processing accounting data on the Xero accounting software.

 

● Preparing monthly and bi-monthly financial management reports for clients to make well informed business decisions and have a clear idea of the entity’s performance and position.

 

●    Utilising effective communication skills to assist business owners in understanding their entity’s financial position by analysing and explaining the financial data recorded over the period and key cost areas to they may need to pay attention to.

 

● Reviewing the financial management reports before sending them in for review to my manager.

 

● Working according to deadlines and managing and executing my workload to ensure that it is evenly distributed throughout the month to ensure I complete all my tasks within the given time.

 

● Filing Income Tax returns as well as VAT returns for both monthly and bi-monthly VAT registered entities.

 

● Preparing amortisation schedules for entities fixed asset register, in order to accurately record the entities assets and relevant deferred tax effect as a result of purchase and of course running the depreciation.

 

● Maintaining an organised and detailed record of all client folders and relevant documentation to ensure that all aspects of the business are well recorded and noted as need necessary and allowing for an efficient working environment as it pertains to carrying out daily accounting procedures. Tax returns as well as VAT returns for both monthly and bi-monthly VAT registered entities.

 

● Preparing the payroll for entities nearing the end of the month adjusting leave day balances, inputting the accurate payslip figures and sending out the finalised payslips as well as the EMP201 liability to clients

● Filing Payroll/EMP201 on a monthly basis

 

● Engaging and leading meetings with clients to discuss strategies and solutions to some of the challenges they may be facing.

 

●    Utilising effective communication skills to assist business owners in understanding their entity’s financial position by analysing and explaining the financial data recorded over the period

 

●    Conducting full bank reconciliations to ensure that balances are recorded accurately to ensure accuracy on a monthly basis as well as ensure accuracy in year-end financial reports.

 

●    Fulfilling administrative tasks as it pertains to registering entities for VAT, registering entities for WCA, completing and filing WCA reconciliations well ahead of time so clients are aware of the liability that is due. Ensuring that entities CIPC registration is renewed and paid as necessary.


 

 

●    I have been exposed not only to South African entities but Canadian entities as well, I have had the opportunity to research and learn about Canadian tax regulations such as HST and processing Canadian transactions.

 

●    Delegating tasks to fellow team members and reviewing them together, being available to assist team members as needed and effectively working together with a team to ensure the teams goals are achieved.
