About Karabo Mathibedi:

As a creative and client-focused Interior Designer with excellent communication, project management and design skills, It would be an honour to work for such a prominent interior design company like yours. I did my research about your company and I was attracted by your companies values and what you stand for. It is very important for me to work for a company that is going places and does things at high standards. 

 

I have worked at Design Decisions for over 2 years, where I was a junior interior designer. In 2019, I was retrenched, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Ever since then, I have been freelancing and collaborating with other interior designers and architects. I am at a stage in my career where long-term employment with the same company will be extremely beneficial. As a good team player who is open to working in a fast paced environment with demanding deadlines, on top of this I possess excellent communication skills. As someone who is creative, technically minded and has great attention to detail, I can design, develop and deliver unique results. I am an expert at Revit, AutoCAD, 3DsMax, InDesign, Photoshop and Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience

My passion for colour, fabrics, furniture, floor plans, and all things “design” started at a very young age and has grown into a lifelong fascination with interior design. During my time in interior design practice and illustration work, my artistic and creative skills have grown immensely, and each project has given me an opportunity to explore new ideas, response to new challenges, and build design skills and knowledge. I believe that design is powerful and can be used to create experiences that excel the productivity, livability, and likability of a space and enrich our everyday lives.

The works in this portfolio document my desire to create innovative, environmental conscious, functional spaces through thoughtful planning and creative problem- solving that will enhance the lives fall occupants. I am incredibly self-motivated, organised, and detail-oriented and take great pride in my work. 

 


 

Education

Interior architectural detailing, Revit, 3DsMax, BIM360, SketchUp, Lumion & AutoCAD, transitional and contemporary design themes with an emphasis in design that requires custom fabrication within commercial and residential projects. Develop detailed working drawings in Revit containing space planning, furniture layouts, electrical lighting plans, applied molding, floor & finish plans, and interior architectural elevations. Furniture design, cabinetry design, kitchen & bathroom design.
