    Description

    Requirements

    • National Diploma or B. Degree in Mining
    • Must have an opencast blasting ticket
    • Mine managers' certificate
    • Managerial qualification
    • 5 years' experience in open cast mining environment of which at least
    • 2 years experience as a Production Manager level.
    • Experience with open pit heavy equipment fleet and open pit operations and mechanically inclined
    • Experience in drilling, blasting, loading, hauling and pit dewatering

    KPA

    Health, Safety and Environment

    • Complies with the Mine Health and Safety Act as well as company policies and procedures

    Production

    • Assists with the drawing up of business strategy and budget formulation
    • Ensure optimal production of mining and plant
    • Achieve productivity targets

    Cost

    • Ensure correct allocation of resources e.g., labour and equipment
    • Allocate/withhold funds as dictated by operational requirements

    Labour management

    • Define labour structure and ensure vacancies are filled within reasonable time
    • Review subordinates' performances quarterly according to their respective KPIs
    • Approval and monitor of overtime in maintenance department based on Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) requirement
    • Manage leave schedule.
