    Description

    Responsibilities:
    New Product Development & Production
    Approval (APQP) of new materials, components & systems in electrical commodity (wiring harnesses, electronic modules, motors, etc.)
    Provide Supplier Quality requirements for all new business sourcing decisions and business transfers (BTAB) affecting local suppliers to achieve company objectives in terms of quality, technology and price
    Key member of sourcing team in support of Supplier Nomination / Selection process
    Supplier Quality performance monitoring and implementing continuous improvement initiatives

    Drive rapid product issue resolution with suppliers for all supplier manufactured causes
    Conduct regular supplier audits on quality management systems and processes to ensure supplier manufacturing controls consistently meet quality
    requirements
    Implement product and/or process changes at suppliers, and ensure they are effectively managed / executed without disruption to supply while meeting company quality and engineering standards


    Requirements:
    Mechanical, Quality or other related Engineering qualification with an additional
    NQF level 4 minimum in Machining & Toolmaking
    Minimum 5 years' experience in tool & die fabrication in the stampings commodity with a strong desire and/or exposure in the manufacturing quality
    systems
    Minimum 10 years' experience in automotive manufacturing process and component development
    Extensive knowledge of Quality Management Systems such as IATF16949,
    ISO9001, VDA6.3, etc.
    Proven Manufacturing Quality Systems knowledge including lean manufacturing concepts
    Thorough understanding of Process Failure Mode & Effects Analysis
    Knowledge in automotive supplier manufacturing processes and controls
    Thorough understanding of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) including detailed knowledge of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) for automotive components and systems
    Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

    Good technical knowledge in automotive electrical commodity, systems and components
    Highly analytical, able to conduct root cause analysis and apply problem solving techniques
    Good Problem Solving skills (8D, 5 Why's, Ishakawa , Red X, etc.)
    Extensive knowledge on manufacturing techniques and processes used in manufacturing electrical components and systems
    Excellent project management skills
    Broad understanding of Quality Management System requirements
    Working knowledge in reading and interpreting Engineering drawings
    Computer skills (MS Office suite of apps such as Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
    Ability to conduct supplier audits on Quality Management Systems and
    Manufacturing Process Control Plans
