    Description

    You will work alongside experienced engineers to create and improve embedded solutions that improve and drive both current and future products.

    Duties and Responsibilities, but not limited to:

    Embedded Systems Development:

    Assist in designing and developing embedded systems for various hardware modules of the device, ensuring they meet performance and reliability requirements.

    Programming:

    Write, debug, and optimize code for embedded microcontrollers and processors using languages like C and C++.

    Hardware/Software Integration:

    Collaborate with hardware and mechanical engineers to integrate software with electronic/mechanical components and peripherals.

    Testing and Debugging:

    Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of embedded systems to identify and resolve issues.

    Documentation:

    Create and maintain detailed documentation for code, designs, and project progress.

    Source Code Version Control:

    User source code version control systems (such as, Git) to track changes, facilitate collaborative development, and ensure code integrity throughout the project lifecycle.

    Collaboration:

    Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, firmware engineers, and quality assurance teams, to ensure successful project completion.

    Formal Education and Experience:

    Matric (Grade 12)

    Bachelors degree in electronic engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

    2 or more years experience in the same or similar role.

    Required skills:

    Programming skills in C and C++

    Knowledge of microcontrollers, processors, memory technologies, peripheral devices and embedded system architecture (prior development on Renesas chipset is advantageous).

    Familiarity with reading and interpreting hardware schematics and PCB layouts.

    Understanding of real-time operating systems (RTOS), Bare-metal development is advantageous.

    Proficiency in debugging tools and techniques, including the use measurement equipment such as logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, multi-meters etc.

    Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

    Good communication and teamwork abilities

    Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges.
