About Fezile Makhanya :
I am a steadfast, committed, and passionate electrician with 3 years of relevant experience. I have worked in the largest refinery in Southern Africa which has over 20 substations of which some of them accommodate more than 30KV. As an electrical apprentice on paper but an electrician assistant in reality, I have a proven track record of performing and completing tasks within due dates. In addition I am a team player with good listening and communication skills acquired from working with Sapref employees in different departments and services providers.
I seek challenging opportunities where I can fully use my skills for the success of the organization.
Experience
Received daily tasks from the supervisor and completed assigned duties to accepted engineering standards within given period. The tasks included:
- Daily substation, transformer, and unit checks.
- Plant inspections of all machines and equipments in areas of responsibility, ensuring that all defects are noted for planned shutdowns or immediate repair.
- Energise or de-energises drives (MV & LV) as per operations personnel's request.
- Diagnose faulty systems, equipments, machines, and electrical components using test instruments and hand tools to locate the cause of the breakdown and rectify the problem.
- Test, Grease, connect and disconnect electrical motors.
- Maintain, assemble, and install electrical distribution boards, panels, wiring, lighting systems, equipments and apparatus.
- Preventative maintenance of electrical systems, machines and equipments such as earth integrity test, & insulation resistance test.
- Executing cold and hot shrink joints on cables.
- Fit mechanical glands on cables.
- Fit lugs to cable core.
- Wire cables to electrical components according to drawing.
- Ensure safe work practices at all times.
