My Client who is an established manufacturing and engineering company in the East Rand is looking for a Workshop Assistant/Painter for their branch.


Duties and responsibilities:

All duties and responsibilities include, but is not limited to the below:

  • Material preparations
  • Spray painting
  • Brush painting
  • Paint mixing
  • Maintain painting procedures
  • Clean and maintain painting equipment
  • Maintain the movement of paint stock
  • Maintain correct use of PPE and safety equipment
  • Assist with assembling of valves and piping systems, as required
  • Assist with pressure testing procedures, as required
  • Assist in the workshop, as required
  • Sort and organise painting and assembly areas
  • Go out to do deliveries and collections, as required
  • General housekeeping of paint and workshop areas
  • Any other adhoc tasks that may be required from time to time

Work Experience: 2-3 years minimum working experience, in any metals industry will be preferable

  • Experience with valve manufacturing will be an added advantage
  • Experience with pipe fabrication will be an added advantage
  • Experience with any other Engineering industry will be an added advantage
  • Skills Requirements: Numeric and mathematical literacy
  • Strong understanding of units of measure
  • Strong planning skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure

Other Requirements:


  • Must have a valid driver's licence
  • Ability to operate a forklift will be an added advantage
  • Must be willing to work day/night shifts and overtime as required
  • Own reliable transport will be an added advantage

PLEASE NOTE:


  • The job requires a physically strong individual, who is able to lift heavy items and objects
  • Qualifications: Matric / Grade 1
  • Any other qualification or skills straining will be an added advantage


  • Salary/Wage: R4

  • R55 p/hr negotiable, depending on the level of experience.

Salary:
R R55.00 per hour
