    The position / About the Job:

    In this job the Field Sales - Capital Sales would be to responsible for identify business opportunities within the market and concluding direct sales of Alfa Laval products and services within a defined area of responsibility.

  • Directly responsible for Capital Sales and After Sales in the mining industry across South and East Africa.
  • Follow established sales processes and guidelines to promote and sell Alfa Laval Products and services.
  • Analyze and understand mining market insights and the customer's buying behavior and make sales plans according to the business division strategy and targets, by working closely with the Business Unit Manager
  • Conduct Market and Customer analysis and mapping to define business potential and opportunities.
  • Look for and manage leads from the market and customers, and convert them in real business opportunities in other to ensure the pipeline.
  • Be active in the market and focus on making visits, meetings and interactions to customers, focusing on customer needs understanding and highlighting the value of our products and services.
  • Runs the operation by managing the customer grid and proactive planning in our tools.
  • Develop value quotes reflecting the customer needs stressing the unique selling points and follow-up.
  • Use the CRM tool and other tools in a consistent and qualitative way, to support the sales process and take decisions.
  • Analyze each mining account and define a sales strategy including relationship management (whom to build which relationship with and why), in order to be able to work efficiently.
  • Develop, implement, and follow up local sales activities for/with relevant key account(s) or markets to meet growth targets and goals.
  • Plan which customer contacts should be involved, how and when, in order to move the sales forward efficiently.
  • Plan and execute a systematic follow-up on all relevant steps in the kay account sales process to ensure that we capture all possible business.
  • Pro-Actively connect and coordinate internally with BU s, and Global Sales, to secure aligned customer and or market strategies.
  • Ensure we develop the right offering for each customer needs, including process risk evaluation, equipment sizing and selection.
  • Drive and support business development including application development through testing.
  • Drive and/or support testing work at customer sites to evaluate scaling of production equipment.

  • Excellent knowledge of various contract standards, general terms and conditions, incoterms, payment terms and other commercial terms
  • Good team player
  • Qualifications & experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering/mechanical engineering/mining engineering.
  • Additional qualifications in sales and marketing will be an added advantage.
  • Experience – 8-10 yrs. of experience in the Mining Application – Filed sales /Product & Application.
