    Description

    A Johannesburg-based investment firm is actively seeking a recently qualified CA(SA) to assume the pivotal role of Fund Accountant, contributing significantly to the firm's growth and embodying its core values.

    In this role as Fund Accountant the diverse responsibilities include preparing Balance Sheet Recons, compiling monthly reports, assisting in board pack preparation, and generating monthly management accounts for group entities. This position requires effective management of day-to-day relationships with lenders, showcasing leadership in dealing administration, and providing supplementary reports to Mezzanine investors. Contributions to business growth include efficient handling of year-end processes, meeting deadlines, and active participation in annual budget preparation for strategic financial planning.     Key qualifications for the Fund Accountant:

    • Newly Qualified CA(SA)
    • Experience in Financial Services
    • Outstanding academic achievements
    • Pastel experience advantageous

    Key duties for the Fund Accountant include but are not limited to:

    • Assist in Balance Sheet Recons preparation for all companies.
    • Compile monthly reports for investors.
    • Aid in the preparation of board packs for group companies' board meetings.
    • Generate monthly management accounts for various group entities.
    • Prepare and review annual financial statements, including income tax calculations, for group companies and fund entities during the year-end audit.
    • Provide input to enhance financial reports.
    • Prepare VAT and Income Tax returns, along with schedules and reconciliations for auditors
    • Manage deal administration, including day-to-day relationships with other lenders and investors.
    • Conduct quarterly and year-end valuations of investments.
    • Perform carried interest calculations.
    • Prepare monthly NAV and quarterly reports to investors.
    • Provide multiple supplementary reports to Mezzanine investors.
    • Handle ad hoc requests from investors.
