For our 'Black Friday Like Never Before' digital marketing campaign for Ultra Liquors we collected the Gold Award for Customer Journey Marketing, a second Gold Award for Lead Generation, and a Silver Award for the Small Budget/Big Impact in the Marketing Impact category.

How we won: Innovative use of enabling technology.

Whether you grew up calling her Gogo; Granny, Ouma, or Nkhono this cook-off series honours them — the custodians of cherished family recipes, taste, and joyful memories we associate with family meals.

 Join us in celebrating the people who make every meal a lasting memory. For this is more than just a cooking competition – but a reminder of the stories, joy and laughter experienced around the dining table.

Bookmarks and SHOP! Award Winner | Social Communities: Use Of User Generated Content

Campaign: The Voice of Makro The assignment: Drive talk-ability online about Makro's array of deals to uplift awareness and sales. It's not what you say, but who says it: DStv Mzansi Viewers' Choice Actor, Bonko Khoza, who had humble beginnings as a Makro voice artist, launched a social media competition inviting people to upload Reels of themselves promoting Makro deals for a chance to WIN a #VoiceOfMakro contract. Speaking volumes:

  • The brand was able to reach a previously untapped, younger audience by tapping into their strong engagement on social media.
  • Entrants rallied the support of their communities through social sharing, increasing content engagements across hundreds of uploads.

Word on the street: Makro is supporting emerging local talent and has a wide range of great deals. Results:

  • 65% uplift in online sales during the campaign period
  • 3 million impressions
  • 2,400,000 reach
  • 367,000 engagements

Ready, Set Go! Birthday Bash Trolley Dash Case Study In 30 Seconds

We brought the Makro Birthday 2022 key visual to life with a nationwide trolley dash experience at five Makro stores, giving shoppers a chance to win a trolley of free goods. 

Influencers MC'd the dashes, fuelling excitement and FOMO amongst Makro shoppers online and in-store. 

✔️ Reaching wider audiences 

✔️Enhancing brand sentiment 

✔️Uplifting staff morale 

Results: 

☑️ +- 2500 uplift in foot traffic where live activations occurred 

☑️ 100% increase in social media engagement 

☑️ 10% increase in revenue at activated stores during the campaign period
