About Jane Mekoa:
Warm Greetings,
I am interested in the Humanities position at your school, as I am passionate about History (I love culture and people) and travelling and exploring (Geography). Learning inspires me and have attached the relevant documents for your consideration.
I am a qualified and experienced native English speaking South African teacher, who loves to travel and experience new cultures. Therefore, seeking an opportunity to enhance my educational experiences and expand my horizons whilst doing something I love. I am a naturally happy person with high, but realistic expectations. I regard myself as a reflective and responsive global teacher.
Coming from South Africa with its diverse economic backgrounds, multiculturalism and multilingualism, makes me flexible and respectful to other beliefs, values and culture. We are faced with ever changing curricula, thus resilient, allowing me to overcome challenges and difficulties, providing alternatives. This makes me flexible to follow the policy and guidelines of any curriculum, with my experience of our various national curricula and the Cambridge.
I believe that students should be motivated to learn, and teachers must provide these opportunities, whilst academics are important, I believe in the holistic development of the child. My teaching and learning skills inspire and motivate students. I am a collaborative and co-operative team worker.
I thank you for your time and consideration with my application
Kind Regards,
Jane

Education
Learning inspires and motivates me, especially a challenge. I completed all my coursework in my Master's Degree, however did not complete my thesis. Simply, because I chose a challenging topic - “Teacher Absenteeism”, as it impacted negatively on the education process in South Africa. Clearly the culprits did not want to participate in my research.
It was the most awesome course I have ever experienced, and truly shaped my learning experience.
