Description

As an OTC (Over-the-Counter) Desk Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations and activities of the OTC desk within a financial institution.

You will play a crucial role in managing the trading and risk management functions of the OTC desk, ensuring efficient execution of trades, compliance with regulations, and effective communication with clients and internal stakeholders.


Your responsibilities will include:

Trading Operations:

  • Execute OTC trades on behalf of clients, including but not limited to derivatives, swaps, and other structured products.
  • Monitor market conditions, analyze market trends, and provide timely trading recommendations to clients and the trading team.
  • Manage trade execution process, including trade confirmations, settlements, and reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and best practices.

Risk Management:

  • Implement and enforce risk management strategies and controls to mitigate market, credit, and operational risks associated with OTC trading.
  • Monitor and analyze risk exposures, assess potential risks, and develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with risk management teams to implement appropriate risk measurement and reporting systems.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, regulatory changes, and market developments related to OTC trading.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a primary point of contact for OTC trading inquiries and requirements.
  • Understand client needs, investment objectives, and risk tolerance to provide tailored OTC trading solutions.
  • Work closely with sales teams to identify business opportunities, develop new client relationships, and expand the client base.
  • Address client concerns, resolve issues, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

Team Management:

  • Lead and manage a team of OTC traders, analysts, and support staff.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to team members to enhance their trading skills and knowledge.
  • Set performance goals, conduct performance evaluations, and provide feedback to improve team productivity and effectiveness.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages innovation, continuous learning, and professional development.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare and present regular reports on trading activities, risk exposures, and performance metrics to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Analyze trading data, identify trends, and propose recommendations for improving trading strategies, profitability, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the finance department to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting related to OTC trading activities.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field. A master's degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) would be advantageous.
  • Proven experience in OTC trading operations, risk management, and client relationship management within a financial institution or brokerage firm.
  • Indepth knowledge of OTC markets, derivative products, trading strategies, and risk management techniques.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in a fastpaced trading environment.
  • Proficiency in using trading platforms, risk management systems, and financial software.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, traders, and internal stakeholders.
  • Leadership abilities to inspire and motivate a team, foster collaboration, and drive results.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
