Requirements:

Matric and relevant Tertiary Qualification
Managerial Spare Parts / Logistics / Procurement Manager
SAP system experience

Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role.
Attributes and Skills
Experience in Managing Parts department/warehouse.
Solid Shipping, logistics and Incoterms experience and knowledge.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) (English Language)
Excellent attention to detail
Excellent leadership and negotiation skills
Team player and ability to continue and complete tasks and projects without supervision in a timeous manner
Computer skills Excellent Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent Organizational and Time Management skills

Responsibilities:


Communication, Staff Management, Health and Safety

Ensure workplace health and safety requirements are met, that staff are trained appropriately and that any areas of concern are addressed.

Manage and motivate all team members, including delegation, assist with training of new staff, performance evaluation and disciplinary actions for staff with respect to ensure productivity targets are met.

Communicate and respond as required with other departments and customers.
Briefing team leaders on the issues for that day and communicates with colleagues for work required.
Communicate all delays or variances in inbound/outbound freight to the appropriate parties (Internal and External).
Motivating, organising, and encouraging teamwork within the Inventory workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded.

Ensuring that you maintain a good relationship with key account clients and that an excellent customer relationship is maintained by all staff.

Dealing with customers in South Africa as well as the allocated African sales region.

Spare Parts Manager: 1x Warehouse Supervisor/Sales, 4x Warehouse Assistant/Sales, 1x Warehouse administrator.


Parts
Management
Maintain strict control over inventory levels in order to meet internal and external demand of products.

Manage the receiving, shipping, handling, distribution, and storage of all freight, product, and supplies that come in and out of the department.

Management of goods receiving function, ensuring stock is received and input correctly and immediately onto system; that all damaged goods are identified and that credits are obtained.

Ensuring that costs are contained. Continually reviewing processes and suppliers to ensure cost effectiveness.

Oversee the safe receipt, storage, retrieval and timely dispatch of goods and is responsible for the security of the stock.

Plan the arrangement of goods within the department and organize special requirements for certain stock.

Keeping stock control systems up to date and planning future capacity requirements as well as identifying and managing aging stock.

Ensure inventory is managed in terms of policy regarding aging, obsolescence, and damaged goods.
Consider full implications of freight methods, product turnover, size, weight, and other factors when allocating warehouse space.

Implementation of an automated system to improve minimum and maximum stock levels, guarantee 90% availability to optimise shipping frequency, thereby decreasing air freight costs.

Producing accurate regular reports and statistics on a weekly and monthly basis.
Plan department layout and space requirements in order to prevent loss or damage, and to achieve full warehouse optimization.
Meet customer deadlines & employer performance standards.
Ensure quality, delivery and budget objectives are met.
Supply chain optimisation model.
Optimising current SAP software to its fullest potential.
Conduct periodic spot-checks and stock takes of inventory levels, supplies, or equipment quarterly.
Consolidation of monthly forecast information.
Investigate causes of lost or damaged shipments and other matters; adjust where necessary.
Increase profitability year on year.


Ad hoc tasks
Attend to any other function as requested by management within scope of company requirements.
From time to time it will be expected for the Workshop Foreman to participate in projects; tasks etc. outside the official responsibilities but within the scope of company sales related requirements (e.g. Stock take etc.).
