Introduction
Our client is looking for an experienced Demand Planner to join their Johannesburg based team.

Duties & Responsibilities
Develop inventory strategies for the branch by developing plans that will deliver in terms of budgeted working capital requirements

Ensuring that the right stock is on the floor at the right time to maximise sales and to minimize stock - outs and ageing / expired stock

Use insights from the analysis of past sales and Rep forecasts to develop an inventory strategy that maximises customer satisfaction, profitable sales and ensures no write-offs.

Analysis and forecasting - including analysing current demand and adhering to suitable working targets

Stock management - tracks and maintains stock levels vs sales, working to quickly turn around products to minimise overstocking and expired stock

Accountable for and manages monthly and perpetual stock takes - tracks and manages ageing stock to ensure that there are no stock write-offs

Ensures that back orders are kept to a minimum and negotiates with Planning Department to expedite

Ensures all documentation is accurate and up to date

Desired Experience & Qualification
Matric

Relevant tertiary qualification

Minimum 3 years' experience as a Demand Planner in a manufacturing environment

Experience with inventory management in a manufacturing environment

Strong understanding of procurement methods and MRP
