Mechanical Engineer - Boksburg, South Africa - Quality Connect Staffing

Lead a team of engineers to design and implement maintenance strategies, procedures, and methods for various production lines, focusing on cost savings and improved health and safety standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage the engineering team to ensure efficient project execution and maintenance activities.
• Oversee project planning, execution, and completion, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
• Develop and implement shutdown plans to minimize downtime and optimize production.
• Design and implement maintenance strategies, procedures, and methods for production lines, including calendaring, belt building, vulcanizing press, final finish, and utilities.
• Identify and implement cost-saving projects to improve operational efficiency.
• Perform routine maintenance, fault finding, and breakdown diagnostics to minimize downtime.
• Develop and implement health and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports to track progress and performance.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Relevant Mechanical Engineering qualification.
• Experience in the rubber manufacturing industry.
• Project management skills.
• Shutdown management experience.
