    VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENTS

    Nexia SAB&T seeks to appoint a dynamic individual on fixed term contract in Pretoria to fill the following position:

    Assistant Director: Quantitative Analyst

    (REF: //3)

    Job Purpose:

    To support the health product value chain requirements by using business and market analysis in order to improve data governance, including forecasting and big data analytics.

    Responsibilities & Duties

    • Development and management of pharmaceutical tenders forecasting
      • Update, finalise and circulate the specification item list to stakeholders following the Bid Specification meetings within two weeks.
      • Collect data, prepare baseline statistical forecast and circulate the baseline forecasted estimates to the stakeholder six weeks after the first Bid Specification Meeting.
      • Update tender estimates and submit for publication two weeks before the publication date.
      • Perform ad hoc activities including but not limited to reference pricing.
    • Development of contracting close out reports
      • Prepare and submit a Tender close out report three months after awarding of the contract.
      • Prepare and submit Contract close out report six months after the close of the contract.
    • Conduct data acquisition and governance for medicine use analysis purposes
      • Weekly extraction and submission of facility reporting data to relevant stakeholders.
      • Weekly upload of Medicine Availability dashboards.
      • Management and resolution of queries within the specified timelines.
    • Institutionalisation of National Surveillance Centre
      • Weekly extraction and submission of facility reporting data to relevant stakeholders.
      • Weekly upload of Medicine Availability dashboards.
      • Management and resolution of queries within the specified timelines.
      • Perform ad hoc activities
    • Risk management
      • Comply with necessary operational plans, work plans and reporting requirements.
      • Ensure filing and record-keeping are auditable and compliant with AMD standards.
      • Maintain knowledge management plan and risk management plan.

    Qualification, Skills, Competencies & Experience:

    • A minimum qualification of a three year bachelor's degree/ national diploma in information or computer sciences/ mathematics, or equivalent NQF level 6 qualification.
    • 2-3 years' relevant experience required.
    • Proficiency in statistics, forecasting and planning methods with an understanding of their operational impacts.
    • Good understanding of big data techniques
    • Knowledge of master data management protocols and techniques.
    • Knowledge of industry standards, legislation and best practice relating to information and communication technologies.
    • Programming e.g. SQL.
    • Excellent quantitative skills
    • Proficiency in data-mining and visual analytics Risk management.
    • Communication and presentation skills (verbal and written) and ability to communicate technical content to non-technical staff.
    • Planning, organisational and administrative skills.
    • Computer literacy, including full Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.).
    • Ability to work independently and function as part of a broader team.
    • Possession of a patient-centred, proactive approach to problem-solving.
