Description
The purpose of this role is to administer all purchasing activities within an assigned area. Responsible for negotiation and documentation of assigned contracts, and obtaining goods and services at best value. Fosters relations, provides technical and specialized support to requesters.- Participate in negotiation meetings with the vendors.
- Review and vet vendors.
- Keep up to date with all market happenings and improvement to meet stakeholders' needs.
- Learn and understand stakeholders' needs and be able to provide alternatives.
- Administer purchasing orders.
- Contribute productively to the success of a team, under the direction of the Area Purchasing Manager.
- Ensure that personal quality and productivity standards are consistent and accurately maintained.
Must hold and/or be worthy of a Temple Recommend
:
- Bachelor's Degree or threeyear Diploma in Procurement, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management or any Business-Related degree or diploma, with a minimum of 3 years related experience.
- Ability to speak and write in Portuguese and English an added advantage.
- Proven negotiation skills and excellent communication skills.
- Have a valid driver's licence.
- Ability to analyse data.
- Good computer skills using MS Office programs and ability to learn new programs.
- Member of ISM (Institute of Supply Management) or CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply) will be advantageous.
- Ability to manage, plan, and prioritize.
