    Hire Resolve's client is a leading multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm dedicated to providing innovative solutions to complex challenges.

    Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing geotechnical engineering expertise on various projects, from conception to completion. The Senior Geotechnical Engineer will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet client objectives while adhering to industry standards and best practices.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Conduct geotechnical investigations, site assessments, and feasibility studies to assess ground conditions and provide recommendations for engineering projects.
    2. Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, including interpretations of site investigations, analysis of geotechnical data, and design recommendations.
    3. Perform geotechnical analyses using appropriate software and methods, such as slope stability analysis, foundation design, and numerical modelling.
    4. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff.
    5. Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with project requirements and relevant regulations.
    6. Participate in project meetings, site visits, and inspections as required.
    7. Contribute to business development activities, including proposal preparation, client presentations, and networking initiatives.
    8. Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and advancements in geotechnical engineering, and incorporate relevant knowledge into project work.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree (BSc/BEng) in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field.
    • Professional Engineer (PrEng) registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) or eligibility to register.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, specifically within the Transport discipline.
    • Strong understanding of soil and rock mechanics.
    • Experience in designing foundations for buildings and structures, slope stabilization, ground improvement, earthworks, and retention structures.
    • Proficiency in foundation and pile design, settlement analysis, earth pressure calculations, slope stability assessments, and bearing capacity evaluations is highly beneficial.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in geotechnical analysis and design software.
    • Excellent communication, collaboration, and report-writing skills.
