Sanlam Group Technology is responsible for the provision of a digitally enabled technology service as a group COE, drive business and transformation and provide group-wide digital and data architecture. We operate the various technology platforms and shared services, ensure Cyber and Information Security resilience, and act as technology governance and risk orchestrator for technology across Sanlam.

What will you do?

The successful incumbent will be responsible for End-2-End solution design and consulting for End User Computing (EUC). The incumbent will also ensure alignment with Sanlam's Information and Technology strategy through adherence to group wide architecture principles and objectives.

End-2-End solution design for EUC that describe the solution and implementation according to Sanlam Group Technology (SGT) standards.

• End User Solutions
o End-to-End solution design for End-User solutions.
o Creating high-level plans and strategies for implementing EUC solutions that align with the organization's goals and requirements.
o Integrate measures into EUC solutions, including strategies for automation, simplification, data protection, encryption.
o Integrating EUC solutions with cloud-based services, enabling users to access their resources from various locations and devices.
o Act as technical point of contact for business projects relating to EUC.
o Perform Technology roadmap planning relating to EUC.
o Ensure alignment with SGT strategy through adherence to group wide architecture principles and objectives.
o Ensure alignment with SGT Security Standards through adherence to group wide architecture/security principles and objectives.

• Device Management
o End-to-End solutions design of Intune and SCCM
o Designing strategies for managing end-user devices, including desktops, laptops, smartphones, and tablets throughout its lifecycle.

• Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)
o Designing VDI solutions that allow end-users to access virtualized desktop environments, providing flexibility, security, and centralized management.
o Design VDI deployments that includes optimization, scalability, and optimum performance.

• Mobile Device Management
o Developing strategies for managing mobile devices, including security enforcement, data protection, and application management.

• Application Delivery
o Designing and implementing solutions for efficient and secure delivery of applications to end-users, which can involve application virtualization, streaming,
and remote access.

• End User Support
o Designing and optimizing mechanisms for improving end-user support, such as self-service portals, ticketing systems, and knowledge bases.

• Output Devices
o Design Output Device solutions that include optimization, security, user experience and optimum performance
o Design solutions aligned to organization strategy and defined roadmap.

• File Shares
o Solution design for end user on-prem file shares.
o Design solutions aligned to organization strategy and defined roadmap.

o Hybrid Solution Design

• Collaboration and Communication
o Designing solutions that enable seamless collaboration and communication among end-users, often involving tools like video conferencing, chat platforms,
and unified communication solutions.

Provide consultancy to operations and projects.

• End User Experience
o Improve user experience through strategies such as profile management, personalized settings, and user training.
o Developing solutions that prioritize user experience, considering factors like ease of use, self-service accessibility, responsiveness, and performance.

• Capacity Planning and Scalability
o Assessing capacity needs and designing solutions that can scale to accommodate future growth.

• Documentation and Training
o Developing documentation, guidelines, and training materials to help end-users effectively use the EUC solutions.

• Life Cycle of EUC Applications
o Evaluating new application software requests as well as end of life application replacements.

• Vendor and Technology Selection
o Evaluating and selecting technologies, tools, and vendors that best fit the organization's EUC requirements.
o Participate in the execution of architectural consultation and review functions including due diligence (RFI and RFP) investigations

Qualification

Matric
Relevant IT Diploma, Degree, or equivalent qualifications. Candidates with the following certifications will be preferred.

• Azure AD and/or Intune certification

• Office 365 certification

• VMware VDI certification

Knowledge
Architectural frameworks, capabilities, disciplines, and technologies.
Solid knowledge of EUC Architecture, Data Flow of application traffic, Security concepts and Networking.
A working knowledge of:

• Comprehensive knowledge of EUC solutions (essential).

• Demonstrable knowledge and significant working experience of VDI (essential).

• File Server Component and Technologies including DFS.

• High Availability of EUC Solutions

• A working knowledge of Identity and Access Management / Directory Services (IBM ISIM/ISAM would be an advantage).

• Understanding of the ITIL framework (desirable)

• Understanding of TOGAF (desirable)

• IT support model KPIs

• IT Risk management

• Project methodology

• Performance, Capacity and Continuity processes and metrics

Experience

5-year minimum experience (10 years relevant experience preferred) in EUC Architecture.
Candidates with cloud-based experience in the Azure AD and Intune will get preference.
Solid experience and understanding of EUC Architecture, Data Flow of application traffic, Security concepts and Networking.
Demonstrated experience in:

• Significant experience in designing, implementing, and supporting Hybrid-AAD and Native AAD environments (essential).

• Modern security federation Authentication concepts

• Architecture and Design for:
o Intune and SCCM
o Desktop OS
o Desktop Security
o User Mobility and Device Management
o Virtualized Desktop and Virtualized Applications (VDI)
o Remote Desktop Services
o Software Distribution Technologies
o Output Devices
o Infrastructure optimization
o Capacity Planning
o Performance and Availability management

• Implementing native EUC Azure AD and Hybrid-AD Autopilot Architectures

• Deep understanding of Architecture and Design principals

• Construction of quotations, business cases, benefits calculations, charge out models.

• Disaster planning / recovery and execution.

• Facilitation of architecture related forums.

• Presentation and communication skills.
