    Our client in an insights lead BTL marketing agency who pride themselves on creating world class shopping experiences for world class brands. They have an amazing opportunity for a Business Development Manager - based in Cape Town, who will be responsible for managing and building client relationships with the aims of expanding our clients customer base and achieving sales targets. You will also be responsible for identifying new business opportunities and creating business plans to capitalize on them.
    Our client is seeking a hands-on, customer-centric, target-driven individual, who has a passion for delivering customer delight and growing market share.
    The successful candidate must be able to sell and will come with a proven track record of achieving sales targets and building lasting relationships. Applicants must understand complex selling in the B2B environment and be agile in adapting to the many obstacles that could stall a deal and find solutions around that.

    • Excellence in business development, account management and customer service

    • Creating and managing briefs from concept to completion
    • Performance Reporting (commercial) at senior level

    Requirements

    • Minimum 5 years B2B sales experience
    • Bachelors degree in Marketing; Sales; Business or any related field
    • Sales and marketing skills, with an understanding of the retail industry, brands, and marketing.
    • Understanding the world of BTL agency and (preferably) in-store / Point of Purchase / Display Ad Selling (advantageous).
    • Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with clients
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross functional team
    • Good organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
    • Demonstrated experience in the development and execution of successful sales plans
    • Understanding of and ability to do market research (landscape, clients, competitors)
    • Proven track record of presenting (pitching) to C-suite executives and Senior Management
    • Highly competent in MS Office / G Suite applications (Excel, PowerPoint etc)
    • Experience working with CRM systems
    • Analytical, organised and comfortable with managing tasks and process adherence
