  • The Client Development Manager is responsible for running relationships with key institutional Clients. They are the key point of contact for the relationship and need to drive the relationship to ensure that the capacity requirements of the business are met, with profitable campaigns.

The responsibilities of the Client Development Manager include the formulation and delivery of the strategy of the Client, which includes creation and management of a business plan for the relevant Client (including profitability analysis and forecasting), as well as campaign planning (to the extent that it incorporates client requirements while achieving the Company business strategy).

Additionally, they are also responsible for the retention of all existing business year on year, on a profitable basis.

  • REQUIREMENTS:
  • Relevant tertiary qualification preferable
  • Senior Client Development/ Key Accounts experience
  • BPO experience as optional but not critical.

DUTIES:
The responsibilities of the Client Development Manager are not exhaustive and may change from time-to-time as decided by Management.

  • Act as the link between the Client and the Company.
  • Provide support to functional divisions in the business to ensure the smooth running of campaigns (including campaign management, IT, finance and the sales floor), and the Client.
  • Project manage campaigns in order to ensure that they come into the business as planned and deliver the required results from a client and the Company perspective.
  • Ensure internal SLA's are met regarding timings, profitability and capacity.
  • Responsible for campaign planning for relevant Clients.
  • Communication of campaign results and any changes in campaign status to the Client.
  • Responsible for guiding the Direct Marketing strategy of allocated Clients.
  • Brief Campaign Management staff to execute campaigns and ensure that this execution takes place.
  • Discuss with Clients and other sources the products to be sold and obtain relevant information from Clients and internal resources (such as product and company details, budget and marketing goals and marketing research).
  • Brief other specialists in the business, such as campaign management, on Client requirements in order to develop the details of a campaign.
  • Present draft campaign suggestions to Clients along with a summary of the expected revenue involved, and negotiate and arrange for modifications if required.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of the relevant departments so that the campaign is developed as planned to meet deadlines and budget requirements.
  • Keep in contact with the Client throughout the campaign and deal with problems as they arise.
  • Guide the client with marketing strategies.
  • Together with the Client, develop (in advance) a yearly Marketing Plan, which supports the profit targets of the Company.
  • Provide indepth consultation to the Client eg Product development
  • Adherence to SLA's with Clients and other departments is paramount.
  • Other duties include but are not limited to:
  • Invoicing
  • Writing reports
  • Keeping records and financial detail; and
  • Providing uptodate feedback to the client
